Pink Cake Box...

The owner and designer of the site we all know and love: "The Pink Cake Box" was on Food Network's Cake Challange last week! She's way cute but didn't do a good job because of her bride/assistant. I hope she comes back and competes again.

Would you attempt this?

Should I even go there? I thought it was so cool. It is for a boys birthday party. These are pictures that I got off of google. Im looking for ideas.

Or should I go here?

I thought these would be cute decorated as little sports balls for the kids instead of cupcakes. They are cake balls dipped in white chocolate.

Bee Cake

Here is the Bee cake from last night.

I know its not perfect. It was definatly a learning experience.
What I learned:
Dont put too much frosting on under the fondant - such a mess
Dont spray the fondant with water unless you want spots
Use a firm cake for carving
Chill, Chill, Chill the cake
Make sure your cake stand is big enough
If it doesnt look right do it over again
If you use cheesecake as a filling freeze it to set not refrigerate
If you are doing a 3 layer cake it is best not to put too much filling in so that it doesnt all squish out when you layer it.
Do everything up to your crumb coat the day before and get a babysitter
Lemon-Lime Cheesecake Cake is the best flavor combo in the world!!

Fondant Bees

My friend Gabby came over and helped me with these super cute bees for my cake on Tuesday. I love how they turned out.
