Rustic Wedding Cakes

Three rustic-style cakes for one wedding. ;)Red Velvet Cake w. Cream Cheese b/c. Garnished w fresh berries and red gumpaste 'leaves' {thanks for the red food coloring, Heather!}. 8",6",4"
Chocolate Fudge cake w. rassberry filling. Amaretto b/c. Garnished w. White chocolate 'petals'.

4 layer 10" and 2 layer 7".

"Charlotte" Cake.
Cheesecake {Totally bought it from Costco. Thanks for the idea, Shell!} Topped w. fresh berries and wrapped in lady fingers. Base & PVC pipe covered in white fondant.
Easy- Peasy.

Buttercream Ruffle Cake

Ruffle Cake

Here's the picture the bride gave me to copy, except she wanted pale yellow flowers instead of the brown.

Here is the result, except the flowers were a lot lighter, the flash must have reflected and made them look darker. My cake ended up having a lot more ruffle than the one above, I think that was a good thing, what do you guys think? I also ended up making 75cupcakes with pale yellow, ivory & white frosting.

"Purest Cake"?????

So this was an entry for a Relief Society "Contest". And I say "Contest" because it wasn't really one. Evidently they just wanted people to bring dessert... So I spent all day making this cake (back when I thought it was a contest. ;) because I didn't want to just win...I wanted to make them cry. hehe. Just kidding cause I'm not competitive.

So everybody got a "title" that they won. Things like: "I'll be having seconds of that" and "Too pretty to eat...almost"...

I got...{drumroll...}..."Purest looking Cake".... What?????????

That's okay, 'cause I know I "won". ;)

I called Shelley and we had a good laugh about it. ;)

Road Kill

Here's the roadkill cake I did for our ward Hoedown. I won the "To Die For" award & a Rocky Road candy bar. I was in a big hurry when I did it and I couldn't find my vinyl mat to roll out my black fondant so there was a lot of sugar all over it ( I should've sprayed it with alcohol) Oh well! It was fun to make and the girls got a really big kick out of it. In fact, the kids at the party were so fascinated by it they kept picking at it and eventually started to deconstruct it as the night went on. Audrey got so upset she started lecturing them about not destroying other people's property and when they wouldn't listen she came bawling her eyes out to me....she is so sweet. So by the time the night was done he was missing his teeth, eyeballs, tail, 1 ear, tongue and both paws...the vultures had picked him clean...lol!
